the ambu tubechek-b is a disposable device that rapidly and reliably confirms if endotracheal tube placement is correct or not. for maximum reliability it uses the anatomical difference between the esophagus and trachea as its working principle. if the tube is in the soft, unsupported esophagus, the walls will collapse around the end of the endotracheal tube, creating negative pressure if you attempt to aspirate air. if the tube is in the rigid trachea, air can easily be aspirated. with the tubechek-b, no need for initial ventilation through the tube to obtain co2 detection. and since no initial ventilation is needed, potential stomach inflation is eliminated. for nighttime use, the bulb glows in the dark. tubechek-bs are individually packed/sealed and sold in case of 20. simple, inexpensive, and easy to use, fast, immediate results, no calibration required, no risk of ventilating stomach, tubecheks are durable and feature a long shelf life, bulb glows in the dark..
