Everyday, a new headline or news report on television proves that alcohol consumption is still a major problem that must be dealt with now, before its too late. Using interviews with teens and viewpoints from substance abuse counselors, a police official, and a woman whose daughter was killed in a drunk-driving accident, the message of "it can happen to you" is made clear. Alcohol has serious short and long-term consequences and may take your life. Interviews are coupled with statistics on alcohol consumption and each video stresses the warning signs associated with alcoholism, binge drinking, and drunk driving. Each video is hosted by young adults who offer insight and additional information on each topic. These videos can be utilized individually or as a series. This series will make teens and young adults aware of the dangers associated with drinking alcohol, as well as the legal and criminal aspects of alcohol consumption. Grade 6 to adult. Copyright 2002.
