An interactive, hands-on demonstration that educates people about the dangers associated with distracted and impaired driving. Taking a glance to tune the radio, grabbing a bite of that burger, answering a cell phone, or joking with the friend in the backseat can distract a driver just long enough to potentially cause deadly consequences. Participants are presented with two simple, simultaneous tasks. One task is verbal. The second task is a physical task. Once the participant begins the tasks, the instructor activates the Fatal Reaction� unit via a remote control. The students hear what they've just previously recited played back to them with a delayed echo. Because they are simultaneously performing two different types of tasks, participants experience difficulty speaking, thinking clearly, and performing the physical task. The lesson becomes clear, "if you can't perform two simple tasks while distracted, you must limit the distractions faced when operating a motor vehicle and never drive impaired".
