Students experience a simulated asthma attack, use a peak flow meter, learn how to listen to heart and breath sounds with digital and conventional stethoscopes, design and build a spirometer, and then conduct an experiment using their own measurements as part of an interactive experiment. Kit includes: peak flow meter, heart sounds listener, disposable stethoscope, 9V battery, rubber bands, straws, 6 tubing, 12 tubing, connectors, lung volume bags, alcohol prep pads, and instructions. Comes in a sturdy storage tub with many reusable components.Project Breathe is a validated tobacco education, prevention, and cessation program in association with the American Lung Association of Pennsylvania. For grades K-12. Comes with worksheets, lesson plans, activities, and multimedia tutorials for interactive education. The students become part of the health care team as they assist a real Mayo trained lung specialist in helping their community work to become tobacco free� one student at a time.Using standards-based learning, students work to gain the knowledge, skills, and resources to achieve realistic and real world Take Action! goals for themselves, their friends and families, schools, and community. Dovetailed with the Project Breathe website and Project Breathe Professional Portal, the entire community can be involved in all aspects of tobacco control. Assemblies and Professional Development for teachers, nurses, and SAP team members are available on-site and online.
