Product Description
Allows students to monitor, record, and interpret information from the National Weather Service. With the help of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration weather radio, they are able to learn about weather firsthand and to pursue this basic information about weather and other factors which produce our weather. The large, 35" x 45", vacuum-formed board is easily mounted. It is sturdy and durable with a professional-like character that intrigues student meteorologists. Students listen to weather broadcasts and record data on the markable, erasable board. The board includes local forecast, extended outlook, national map, and weather data including time, temperature, pressure, humidity, wind speed and direction, sky, and precipitation. The radio receiver switches from loudspeaker for group listening to earphones for individual monitoring of the NOAA broadcasts. In case of severe weather conditions, the receiver automatically sounds off a siren telling students that a local weather alert is about to be broadcast and they should monitor it. The weather board may be used at various grade levels, and can adapt to a variety of locations in the school. A set of 14 study prints is included so that students have a specific reference for the interpretation of observable weather conditions as they occur at various times of the year. Illustrations and text stress the underlying cause-and-effect relationships that produce weather. The board includes a radio receiver, study prints, directions, and teacher's guide. Shipped directly from Wisconsin factory.
