Product Description

Control and record measurements of times, frequencies, rates and periods, and count pulses with our microprocessor-controlled 4-decade digital counter. The device includes an integrated voltage supply unit for direct connection to a fork-type light barrier (U18020), a microphone (U18030) as well as a variable low-voltage supply for a Geiger-Müller counter tube (U21006, U21007 or U19201).

Due to the multitude of measurement possibilities and the built-in RS 232 interface, this unit is particularly well suited as a measurement sensor for use with a PC. The accompanying software permits a graphic display of measured data and export of this data to a spreadsheet program, among other options. An interface cable is included.

Measurement modes:
• Frequency, input A:
Range from 0.01 Hz to 100 kHz; resolution from 10 mHz to 10 Hz.
Single and repeated measurements of frequency and oscillatory motion.
Edge selection.

• Period, input A:
Measuring range from 1 ms to 100 s; resolution from 0.01 ms to 10 ms.
Single and repeated measurements of period and oscillatory motion.
Edge selection.
Pulse counting, A / rate measurement with counter tube input:
Range from 0 to 9999 pulses.
Single measurements over the following time ranges: 1 s, 6 s, 10 s, or 60 s; manual start/stop.
Repeated measurements with automatic start/stop in 2 operating modes: 10 s measuring time and 5 s pause, 10 s measuring time and 5 s display.

• Time measurement:
Start-stop tA-B:
Range from 0.01 ms to 100 s.
Start and stop can be triggered by a switch, pulse (e.g., from a microphone), light barrier etc.
Edge selection for both inputs.

• Run times tA1, tA2, tB1, tB2:
If two light barriers are used, up to 18 different run times can be measured and stored, for instance, during collision experiments; max. resolution of 0.01 ms.
Edge selection for both inputs.

• Run times and time interval tA, tB, tA - tB:
Two light barriers (A, B) can be used to measure and store the respective run times and the time interval between A and B.
Edges selectable at both inputs.

• Counter tube input:
Via a BNC socket (on rear of device).
Supply voltage: 300 V DC to 625 V DC, continuously adjustable.

Display: 4-digit, 7-segment LED.
Height of digits: 20 mm.
LCD display: 2 x 16-digit, illuminated.
Computer connection: Serial interface (RS 232) for PC (DB9 plug).
Loudspeaker: Built-in (can be connected or disconnected).
Power consumption: Approximately 20 VA.
Dimensions: 95 mm x 245 mm x 185 mm.
Weight: 5 kg
